Friends

How can one dog who you have never met touch you so? I find myself thinking that today. A greyhound friend through Facebook lost her beloved boy, Drew, today. I have cried and cried over this loss. Why? I have never met him or his human. But yet I feel so connected to them. I came home for lunch to give the hounds an extra hug. All my friends out there, give your hounds some extra loving tonight.

  1. I've felt the exact same way many times! We all understand that bond, and what the loss feels like.

  2. We tend to internalize those feelings to our own kids, and it hits us that they won't be around forever. Just the thought makes me sad already

  3. I, too, have cried many tears over dogs I have never met in person, but felt like I knew all because of the internet! Drew touched so many lives and I was very sad to hear of his passing also.

  4. I don't think we have to 'physically' meet to become vested in someone. When we follow blogs that are interesting and important too us, it's as if we absolutely come to know who we are reading about and we make that connection as if we do. We feel their joy and we experience their pain. We should all remember to 'remember' those important to us every day, so hug those hounds!

  5. That is the great thing about the blogging community! We hurt, laugh and love together! I have cried over lost greyhounds whom I have only met through pictures. But we feel as if we know them well. Hugs to Drew's family.
