Happy Birthday GPA Tri-State

My group, GPA Tri-State, is celebrating 10 years of finding homes for retired racers!  I am so lucky to have been owned by the group's very first adoptee, KD Tom Sawyer.

While I am so excited for our group, I am finding myself a bit sad these days.  I've been walking down memory lane a lot and thinking of my boy.  Here are some of my favorite photos of my boy.
Tom and Dixie.  This picture was taken shortly after Dixie's arrival.
Love that face.
Birthday boy.  He almost made it to his 13th birthday.
Being goofy.  He had the covers all wrapped around him.
He was such a tolerant boy.  I love this picture of him in the hat.
While Tom was shy and quiet, he loved my grandson, Geoffrey.  He would go out of his way to lay close to him.
One of the very last pictures I took of Tom.  My first, my most special boy.  The one who started it all...

  1. He was a special guy to start so many things, both for you personally and for the adoption group! I'm glad he left you with so many wonderful memories, even though he's not with you anymore.

  2. You truly never forget your first. As I will always have a place in my heart for Girly Girl that no one else will ever fill. He can rest easy knowing he did his job so well. Look how many hounds ended up with homes thanks to his good works.

  3. I keep the blog so I can go back and look at old pictures. Sad that some of them are not around anymore.

  4. Tom is no doubt very pleased that you've carried on what he started and I bet he's proud of his #1 status :)

    How is Sadie?
