Laid To Rest

I am still trying to take in the events of the past 9 days. We brought our girl home to be laid to rest today. I snapped this picture several weeks ago while I was home for lunch. The backyard was her favorite place to be. Always finding a stuffy and chasing the squirrels and deer! When I picked her up at the vet, they brought me a clay impression of her paw print that they made for us. They have been so kind to me and my girl. It helps to know that while she was in their care that they gave her lots of love.

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be such a shock. It's hard enough when you know they're sick, or old; I can't imagine what you're going through. It's good to know that she was surrounded by love and attention the whole time she was with the vet. You and your family (dogs included, of course) are in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. She was such a beauty. Thank goodness all of you were surrounded by so much love. I agree with Amy, if they die of old age or illness it makes logical sense, but to be taken so suddenly, I can not begin to know what you must be feeling. Thank you for posting. I wish I had magic answers that would help ease your pain and suffering, but I know I can't. Just know we are thinking of you and your family.

  3. What a beauty girl she was, Michelle, and how nice to have her paw print. That was such a sweet gesture. I'm so glad they did that for you.

Sending you warm hugs, my friend, and I wish you could come to the tour of homes, too. I can't believe it's less than three weeks away.

    XO,

    Sheila

  4. That really helped me when I lost Treat, too. I knew that the staff at our vet's office really cared about her and were sad to see her go. I think bringing them home is harder in some ways than leaving without them. It seems so final. I'm so sorry!
